If 2026 is 2016 all over again, the spontaneous girl who’s been dormant in me for a decade couldn’t be more thrilled. I’ll set the scene: It’s a Wednesday evening on the Lower East Side, and my best friend, Rochelle, and I are leaving our favorite dive bar. As I pocket a pen on the way out, a neon-lit piercing studio catches Rochelle’s eye. She saunters in and asks for a lobe piercing. I follow her lead with a tragus piercing, channeling Evan Rachel Wood’s bravery in Thirteen.

Little did we know that Rochelle’s stacked earlobe and my tragus would still resonate a decade later, especially when paired with updated jewelry or a coordinating piercing. “With so many different metals and stones to choose from, it’s hard not to want everything pierced,” says Christine Swaim, a piercer at Oak & Poppy Tattoos and Piercings in Los Angeles. “The evolution of body jewelry has really changed the industry, and each piece gives clients freedom of expression.”

Regardless of your thoughts on the 2016 renaissance, piercing trends have continued to expand and evolve. Between the red carpet and your For You Page, there’s no shortage of inspiration if your 2016 self won’t shut up about getting a new piece. That’s why we turned to professional piercers for their takes on the hottest trends right now. The good news? There’s something for everyone to love, from delicate, barely there effects to dramatic throwbacks.

Riding the momentum from 2025’s stacked lobe trend, Starr Ellis, a piercer and the owner of New York City’s Nine Moons Piercing, says the stacked aesthetic will move to the tragus. “Clients are loving stacked studs in areas that aren’t just the earlobes, and a double tragus piercing is a fun way to do that if your anatomy is suited for it,” she says. “There needs to be enough of the small triangular or rhomboid structure in front of the ear canal (that’s your tragus) to be able to pierce and heal more than one stud.”

Incorporating mini hoops, which can be worn solo or stacked, is also a popular approach to styling your tragus, says Maria Tash, jewelry designer and founder of Maria Tash Fine Jewelry and Luxury Piercing in Los Angeles. “Clients often point out the small hoops many of our staff wear, which is an option they hadn’t previously considered, since most associate tragus piercings solely with studs,” she says.

Because the tragus area is prone to swelling, Tash recommends switching to a mini hoop once the piercing has fully healed, which can take anywhere from 6 to 12 months. “It is important to mention to your piercer that you want your tragus piercing designed to wear a small ring when it’s healed, as this request can shift how the piercer angles the depth of the piercing,” she adds.

    Paired nostrils

If a nostril piercing is a way to flatter the shape of your nose and draw attention to your face, consider the paired nostril trend a full spotlight. “Nostril piercings allow for a surprising amount of creativity, from paired and double placements to elegant, stacked configurations,” Tash says. “It seems that today’s modern nose piercing sees the whole plane of cartilage as pierceable, not just the traditional small area halfway back on the side of the nostril.”

According to Swaim, paired nostril piercings—whether two piercings on one side or one piercing on each side of the nose—have become increasingly popular, with many clients opting for the ladder effect. “The ladder involves placing a stud on each side, with a chain laying across the bridge to connect them,” she says. Depending on the thickness of the chain you select, the result can be as delicate or dramatic as you’d like.

And it’s not just the Snapchat-age crowd opting for creative nostril placements. Tash says that stacked or paired nostril piercings have been a hit among all age groups. “We’ve recently seen a notable shift in who’s seeking this piercing, with more clients in their late 30s to late 40s embracing the look,” she explains. “While the typical demographic skews younger, these clients often arrive with a touch of hesitation, only to leave looking as though the piercing had always been a natural part of their features.”

    Faux snug and rook

Inspired to get a snug or rook piercing but don’t have the anatomy for the real deal? Look no further than the faux options, which are creatively placed piercings that give the look of a biblically accurate snug or rook. “They are much easier to heal and can be very instant gratification to look like a cute, curved barbell perfectly placed, or once fully healed, can be worn with chains or rings,” Ellis says.

Typically, a snug involves a piercing on the inner ridge of cartilage in your ear, while a rook is a piercing in the second-highest cartilage ridge of your ear (above the daith and tragus). The faux snug pairs a conch with a helix or double-helix piercing, while the faux rook is one piercing in the upper inner cartilage with a dangle or drop-style jewelry to mimic the look of a traditional rook piercing. “They deliver the look of an advanced, complex placement for clients who don’t have the anatomy or want to avoid a true snug or rook,” says Emmy Zobitz, senior merchandising manager at Studs.

Jewelry sizing and placement need to be super-precise to emulate the illusion of a true rook or snug. For a faux snug, in particular, you’ll be healing two separate piercings as opposed to one, so make time to practice proper aftercare and cleaning. Says Zobitz, “If you want to add a bold, balanced, mid-ear adornment, these are great options.”

Courtesy of @charlesfinsnakebite helix earscape by studs

Snakebite helix (top right, along the ridge of ear)

    Courtesy of @studs

No, we’re not talking about the snakebite lip piercings that dominated the indie sleaze era. According to Zobitz, the snakebite aesthetic at Studs involves two delicate piercings placed side by side on the ear, and clients have been asking for snakebite helix piercings to add to their earscapes. “It makes a statement right where most of your ear’s real estate is and allows you to get truly creative with jewelry,” she says. “With so much space along the helix, you can tailor the look to your style, whether you keep it minimal on the outer edge or move inward to take up more room on the flat with matching studs or contrasting shapes.”

Similar to the faux snug piercing, a snakebite helix will require healing two cartilage piercings at the same time, so keep in mind the aftercare process, and lifestyle factors that could impact healing (like which side you sleep on or use of over-the-ear headphones).

    Classic '90s placements

Perhaps driven by the current ’90s and ’00s pop-culture renaissance—and all the cool, famous girlies on TikTok declaring the return of all things Y2K—belly-button rings and tongue piercings are embarking on their own comeback tour.

“Navel piercings usually consist of a curved barbell, with or without gems, going through the upper ‘lip’ or ridge of the navel, with the top ball or gem sitting above and the bottom resting inside the navel itself,” says Swaim. “I’ve also been seeing tongue piercings with a straight barbell that goes vertically through the tongue near the center, with one ball resting on the surface and the other sitting underneath.”

    tongue and snakebite by livebytheswordtattoo

    Classic tongue piercing

    Courtesy of @livebytheswordtattoo

Those of us of a certain Spotify-listening age may already have an existing piercing from the era, but if you’re getting your belly button pierced for the first time, keep in mind the healing process: Because of its location on the body and factors like movement and contact with clothing, your piercing can take anywhere from three to six months to fully heal. A tongue piercing can take from four to six weeks to heal, says Swaim.

    Floating navel

And while we’re on the topic of belly-button rings, Ellis has seen a definite uptick in floating navel piercings, which primarily showcase the top end of the jewelry to create the appearance of a gem or charm positioned just above your belly button. “It’s a great option for a very unique, nontraditional navel piercing, and can also help cover or distract from previous navel piercing scarring,” she says. “The look of a simple, larger, or more elegant decorative end above the navel is definitely increasing in popularity.”

In lieu of the traditional belly-button piercing, which features a dual-ended and curved barbell, floating pieces of navel jewelry have the decorative piece placed at the top end of the barbell, while the bottom portion is held in place with a small ball or disc that sits inside the navel. It’s a minimalist take on the trend that can align with a more delicate aesthetic. Just make sure to get an anatomy check beforehand to ensure you’re a good candidate for it.

    Hidden helix and rook

The hidden helix (just under the upper ridge at the top of the ear) and the rook are strategically placed so that the piercing holes are concealed on the underside of each respective cartilage fold. The finished result is as visually stunning as it is interesting—almost as if you have tiny chandeliers suspended from each area. “The idea was for jewelry or light to emerge from behind and underneath a fold of cartilage,” says Tash, who patented each placement in her studio as the Tash Helix and the Tash Hidden Rook, with specific jewelry designs to match. “I wanted to create a look where clients wonder, How does that work?”

Having enough cartilage to conceal the exact areas where the piercing is placed is key. “We look for anatomy that has a prominent fold of the helix or rook to conceal the mechanism of the piece,” she says. “We can also use our smaller, threaded-charm designs when a client doesn't have a large fold to achieve this effect.” Between the two, Tash notes, the hidden helix is the more popular placement, though we love the idea of stacking both for a decorated finish.

When we compile a round-up of the biggest nail trends, it never comes with the edict that you must carry out only one trend at a time. If you see a way to combine several of the trendiest techniques or designs into a single manicure, go right ahead! There's no quota. And Vanessa Hudgens's latest two-trend manicure is proof of how incredibly cute that can look.

Over the weekend, nail artist Zola Ganzorigt posted the most recent in her long line of Vanessa Hudgens mani masterpieces. This time, “Subtle V-day polka dots,” as she writes in the caption. And yes, it's still January, but we know Hudgens loves a holiday-themed look, so she's jumping in with the Valentine's Day inspo nice and early.

“We used peachy nude cat-eye nail polish for the base and red cat-eye for the polka dots,” Ganzorigt tells Allure of the mesmerizingly glowing oval nails. That's right—even the polka dots themselves are cat-eye.

    Instagram content

In case you're uninitiated, cat-eye polish takes shimmer to the next level with magnetic particles that help give it previously unimaginable dimension. “It creates a sense of mystery and versatility, as the color appears to change, making it both bold and adaptable,” nail artist Jacqueline Pham previously told Allure.

And polka dots are, of course, classic, but they've been having a huge moment, with numerous celebrities—take Sabrina Carpenter and Kylie Jenner, for example—opting in to the always-cute look. "They’re still nostalgic, rooted in vintage femininity, but have a slightly cheekier twist,” nail artist Elle Gerstein has told Allure of the look.

It's definitely not too soon to get into the V-Day spirit, so go ahead and take this doubly trendy, doubly adorable look to your nail tech ASAP.

If your hair snaps instead of swishes, feels rough no matter how much conditioner you use, or seems impossible to detangle post-shower, the best treatments for damaged hair can bring those strands back to life. “Damaged hair will feel dry to the touch and lose its shine, the ends of your hair will start to split—indicating breakage—and your hair may even become frizzy and unruly,” says Jennifer Nast, a hairstylist based in New York City.

The solution, however, isn’t exactly straightforward—because not all damage is the same. “Heat styling with tools like straighteners and curling irons, coloring and chemical treatments like bleaching and perming, over-washing, and rough handling, such as brushing too hard or using tight hairstyles, can all contribute to damage,” adds Angelo David, a hairstylist based in New York City.

Why we love it: K18's Leave-In Molecular Hair Mask isn’t your run-of-the-mill hair mask. It still promises similar benefits to that of rinse-off masks (shinier, bouncier, and stronger hair). But it’s a leave-in treatment that's meant to be applied on shampooed, unconditioned hair—and it's formulated totally differently, too. Unlike hair masks that sit outside each strand, this one actually penetrates the cortex to repair bonds that are broken during heat styling and color treatments.

"Even though it’s lightweight, it delivers a serious hit of moisture and repair by reconnecting polypeptide chains to strengthen the hair,” says Nast. “My clients love it, especially those with color or heat-styling damage. Plus, it’s lightweight enough for fine hair so that it won’t weigh you down." The brand recommends working it through your strands and letting it sit for four minutes to activate (you can layer on your usual styling products during the wait), then styling. Results build over time, so don’t be surprised if it takes a few washes before you start to see what all the hype is about.

“I put my hair through so much—the blow-drying, the flat-ironing, the re-curling!—my split ends were practically visible from outer space. It wasn't until I diligently started using this now-classic leave-in mask that I believed you could actually undo years of damage. There's a learning curve to using it; you need to essentially emulsify the product in your hands, then apply and wait a few minutes, and then continue to style. You also can't use conditioner before applying. Sure, it's a bit finicky, but this stuff works—seemingly instantly. I got heaps of compliments after using it for a consistent month; people thought my hair was shinier when blown out, and my curls were brought back to life; their pattern restored, their joie de vivre revived!” —Shanna Shipin, senior commerce director

Why we love it: Why should your skin get all the glassy glory? Oribe Mirror Rinse is an in-shower treatment designed to give hair that high-shine, light-catching finish. When used after shampooing, it smooths the cuticle and boosts reflectivity in just a minute, leaving strands noticeably glossier and silkier. “This is the in-shower treatment that’s my personal go-to for giving my natural hair the prettiest gloss—and even makes my extensions look extra fresh,” says Kelley Alvarez, a hairstylist based in Oak Brook, Illinois. The shine comes from a smart blend of smoothing conditioners and lightweight silicones, while glycerin helps keep hair soft and supple. Oribe’s proprietary complex—watermelon, lychee, and edelweiss flower—adds weightless nourishment and helps shield hair from shine-depleting environmental stressors. “It’s super quick to use, and the scent is amazing,” adds Alvarez.

“I’m a huge Oribe fan—the scent alone gets me every time—but beyond that, I always see and feel a real difference in how my hair looks and behaves after I use their products. Mirror Rinse is unlike any in-shower treatment I’ve tried before. The texture is completely clear and serum-like. First squeeze out excess water and then apply it directly to your hair (trying to use your hands is a lost cause—it’ll slide right through your fingers), let it sink in for a minute or two, then rinse, using it in place of conditioner as directed. I was skeptical at first that something so lightweight could actually cling to wet hair—or deliver the same moisture as a traditional conditioner. But, as I started blow-drying when I got out of the shower, the softness was immediate. The after photo here has zero other product in it besides Mirror Rinse, and my hair (which I only cut twice a year so it's prone to dry ends) has never looked shinier or felt smoother.” —Christa Joanna Lee, contributing commerce writer

Instead of rinsing out a mask or dealing with oily residue in the morning, you smooth this lightweight serum onto dry or damp lengths before bed and let it do its thing while you sleep. “It works like hand lotion for the hair,” says Annie Miller, a hairstylist based in Franklin, Tennessee. “It smells incredible, and it absorbs completely by morning without any greasiness.” Plant-based soy and wheat proteins and vitamin B-rich niacinamide help nourish and lock in moisture, while iris root extract and panthenol soften and detangle. By morning, hair feels hydrated, smoother, and easier to manage.

Why we love it: Beyoncé’s mom and longtime hairstylist, Tina Knowles, spent six years collaborating with the singer to create Cécred—a line designed for textured hair, or any strands craving serious moisture. One of its many standouts is the Reconstructing Treatment Mask, a 2024 Allure Best of Beauty winner designed to be used after shampoo and before conditioner. It’s full of strengthening and conditioning ingredients, including Cécred’s patent-pending bioactive keratin ferment, hydrolyzed rice, sea buckthorn oil, and squalane. These help reinforce and smooth the hair cuticle, making the formula especially effective for hair stressed by heat styling, chemical services, or color.

Cataanda James, a licensed cosmetologist based in New York, previously told Allure that it offers instant gratification on damaged hair after the first use. “The hair looks and feels restored, leaving strands smoother and stronger, no matter if you style your hair straight or curly.” And we can’t forget to mention the scent—a warm, spicy mix of oud, sandalwood, jasmine, and vetiver—which turns every wash into a mini reset.

"When it comes to hair masks, I have to be extra selective because having locs means anything too drying or heavy can cause damage. Specifically, brittle strands can lead to breakage, and lingering residue can cause buildup, odor, or worse, mold. Cécred’s Reconstructing Treatment Mask passed the test for me. Why we love it: If you’re convinced that intense hydration automatically means flat, heavy hair, good news—Olaplex’s Weightless Nourishing Mask is here to prove otherwise. The formula is powered by the brand’s volume-boosting complex, which helps add airy lift to hair while reducing breakage that can stall those length goals. The brand’s biomimetic cuticle technology—“biomimetic” meaning that it’s identical to components naturally found in the hair—strengthens hair from the inside to seal the hair cuticle (the protective outer layer that shields the strand from damage), while a blend of avocado, sunflower, and coconut oils step in to deliver lasting softness and shine. This is a once-a-week kind of treatment, too: The hydration sticks around for up to five washes(!), helping hair feel fuller, stronger, and healthier long after wash day.

“With naturally fine, fragile hair that's endured several bouts of hair loss, I've finally accepted that my hair's never going to be the longest or most bountiful out there. These days, my sole hair care goal is to make it through my showers without losing massive clumps of it. Preventing dryness and tangles is paramount, and that's why I jumped at the chance to test Olaplex's Weightless Nourishing mask. Like the rest of the brand's range (which I've used religiously since the brand debuted all those years ago), this mask uses patented bond-building tech to repair hair from the inside-out—but this formula is far, far thicker in consistency than any of its siblings. So thick, in fact, that I tend to duck my hair under the running water while I'm applying it to help it spread. That thickness definitely lends itself to deep hydration, though; I can feel the difference soon as I rinse it out of my hair.” —Nicola Dall’Asen, senior news editor

Why we love it: A heat protectant is non-negotiable before blow-drying, and Gisou’s 5-in-1 Styling Cream does that, and then some. Powered by honey from the Mirsaleh bee garden in Holland (a staple in all of Gisou’s formulas) and hydrolyzed milk protein that patches up weak spots in the hair shaft, it strengthens as it smooths. Hyaluronic acid is also thrown in the mix to add a hit of hydration and keep frizz at bay. Beyond 450-degree protection, it delivers flexible hold, glossy shine, and major moisture—it’s basically your blow-dry’s new BFF.

“My hair-care routine is pretty minimal, so I adore a multitasking leave-in like this Gisou 5-in-1. My biggest concern is frizz, so I need all of the hydration I can get and this pre-styling treatment has plenty of it, thanks to the brand's signature Mirsalehi honey, a bee garden oil blend sourced from the same family plot, hydrolyzed milk protein, and both low and high molecular weights of good ‘ol hyaluronic acid. Despite all these heavy hitters, my thin (though dense) strands don’t feel weighed down, and once I'm through with blow-drying, there's noticeably less frizz. I'm excited to pair it after a hydrating hair mask to compare results versus using a regular conditioner.” —Sarah Han, commerce editor

I refresh my curls with water pretty much every day, and adding this mask as a step in that process has been a game-changer. I wet my hair from my ears to the ends, add a quarter-size dollop to each side, work through, rinse out after a tight 60 seconds, and voilà—you'd never know how scraggly my hair was moments before. Why we love it: It’s been around forever, but Moroccanoil's Treatment Original still delivers, reviving even the driest, most fried strands. David agrees, noting, “Moroccanoil Treatment is a versatile, multi-tasking oil that adds incredible shine, hydration, and manageability to all hair types.” It’s not just about the results, but also the experience. The luxurious, lightweight texture absorbs quickly, and while the signature, slightly spicy scent is strong at first, it fades to a subtle level. “It doesn’t leave any greasy residue,” says David, who often uses a small amount on his ends throughout the day to refresh his style and add a touch of shine. “It's also fantastic for taming flyaways and creating a sleek, polished look,” he adds.

Why we love it: If hair could wear a raincoat, Color Wow Dream Coat Supernatural Spray would be the one you trust in a downpour. This 2020 Best of Beauty Award winner is hydrophobic—yes, it actually repels water—making it a go-to for frizz that shows up the second humidity hits. Apply it to damp hair, then blow-dry with gentle tension to activate the polymer technology. It forms an invisible matrix that smooths and compresses each strand into a sleek, silky shape while wrapping hair in a moisture-blocking shield.

“Dream Coat is that girl when it comes to blocking frizz,” says T. Cooper, a hairstylist based in New York City. “It works on every hair texture and puts a humidity-proof barrier on the hair, so styles last longer,” she says. This lightweight leave-in is all about instant manageability, starting with detangling, which matters more than it gets credit for. When knots slip apart easily, you’re less likely to tug, snap, or cause the kind of friction that leads to breakage and split ends. The formula relies on conditioning and smoothing agents to soften strands and help tools glide, while coconut oil and lactic acid support moisture and overall hair health. “This is the quickest solution when someone needs their hair to feel healthy in seconds,” says Samantha Lawrence, a hairstylist based in Seattle. “In addition to detangling, it adds softness, reduces frizz, and gives heat protection all in one step without weighing hair down,” she says.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best treatment for damaged hair?

The best, salon-grade treatments are always going to be reserved for the hands of the pros, “meaning you’d need a cosmetologist to administer them,” explains Claire. But if you’re after at-home solutions, she says treatments for dry, damaged hair generally fall into two categories. “The first is surface-level cosmetic treatments, like hair masks and leave-in conditioners, that offer temporary shine and softness. "The second is a bond-building reparative treatment like the K18 Leave-In Molecular Hair Mask, which works at the molecular level to repair serious damage," she says. Remember that you'll need to use a treatment like this needs consistently before you see long-term results, but it’s worth it for the deep restoration.

How can I heal my damaged hair?

Healing damaged hair requires consistent care, nourishing products with restorative ingredients, and healthy lifestyle habits. “At-home treatments can be just as effective, if not more so, when used properly and regularly,” says Nast. Start with a gentle shampoo and conditioner that focuses on scalp health and replenishing moisture. Incorporate a rich, deep-conditioning mask into your routine weekly to boost hydration and strength. If it’s possible, cutting back on heat styling and chemical processing is key. If you do reach for your hot tools, always prep hair with a heat protectant.

Small changes like sleeping on a silk pillowcase to minimize friction, eating a balanced diet, and staying hydrated will also help promote stronger, healthier hair. “In the case of excessive damage, you may need to consult a professional for an in-salon treatment, like a keratin treatment, which can deliver more concentrated, long-lasting results that are only available through a licensed stylist,” says Nast.

Can very damaged hair be repaired?

Yes, you can repair very damaged hair, but only to a point. The amount of improvement you see depends on the severity of the damage and the treatments you use. Extreme issues like split ends or breakage can’t be fully reversed, but the right care can make hair look and feel healthier. As David explains, surface-level damage often responds well to bond-repairing products, while more serious damage usually needs in-salon treatment.

How we test and review products

We always enlist a range of testers for our makeup vertical, but hair-care products and tools are another story. While there are certainly products that can be used across different hair textures, lengths, curl patterns, thicknesses, colors (natural and unnatural), and needs, hair products are often created with specific consumers in mind. Many are created in order to address a concern (dandruff, breakage, brittleness) or to work most effectively for a specific hair type (4C curls, wavy hair, gray hair). You wouldn't want to pick up a purple shampoo that's only been reviewed by someone with, say, auburn hair, or a diffuser that's never been tested by anyone with curls—right?

For our review of the best hair treatments for damaged hair, we enlisted the help of multiple editors, writers, contributors, and hair stylists—many of whom have damaged hair they'd like to treat. Testers considered performance across four primary categories: efficacy, texture and experience, fragrance, and packaging. For more on what's involved in our reporting, check out our complete reviews process and methodology page.

    Our staff and testers

A beauty product is a personal purchase. You might be searching for a face cream to address persistent dryness or a new nail product to add to your Sunday self-care routine; you may simply be browsing around for the latest launches to hit the hair market. No matter what you seek or your individual needs and concerns, Allure wants to ensure that you love anything we recommend in our stories. We believe that having a diverse team of writers and editors—in addition to the wide range of outside testers and industry experts we regularly call upon—is essential to reaching that goal.

After all, can we really say a skin-care product is the "best" for people over 50 if the only testers we've solicited opinions from folks who have yet to hit 30? Can we honestly deem a high-end diffuser worthy of your hard-earned cash if it's never been tested on curls? We're proud that our staff spans a wide range of ages, skin tones, hair textures, genders, and backgrounds, which means that we are able to fairly assess any beauty product that comes into the beauty closet.

Pat McGrath Labs has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The brand was set to be sold at an asset sale on January 27; this sale has now been postponed. “Pat McGrath Labs announced that it has commenced a financial restructuring under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code,” the brand confirms in a statement issued to Allure. “The Company’s secured lender’s scheduled auction for Company assets has been postponed indefinitely.”

The brand, which was founded by legendary makeup artist Dame Pat McGrath, launched in 2015 with a multipurpose gold paint called Gold 001. After the initial success of Gold 001, the line grew to include everything from eye shadow palettes to bullet lipsticks to a “glass glow” face spray inspired by the viral doll skin McGrath created for a 2024 Maison Margiela runway show.

As noted by WWD, Pat McGrath Labs received $60 million in funding from the private equity investment firm Eurazeo Brands in 2018 and was valued at more than $1 billion at that time. In addition to its direct-to-consumer website, the brand was sold at Sephora and Ulta. In the past year alone, it has collaborated with franchises such as Bridgerton and Candy Crush on exclusive product lines and has been responsible for the beauty in many big pop culture moments, such as Taylor Swift's glittery “Bejeweled” music-video glam. (Swift is also a rumored fan of the brand's LiquiLust Legendary Matte Lipstick in Elson 4.)

"Everybody was on my case about [starting a brand] for a thousand years," McGrath told Allure in 2021. "'Where's your brand? Where's your brand?' Then [with Instagram], I couldn't avoid them. It was constant torment. Every morning I'd wake up and it was… 'Where’s your brand, Mother?'" In addition to her work as a makeup artist, McGrath also signed on as creative director for La Beauté Louis Vuitton in 2025.

Chapter 11 bankruptcy is often used by businesses to help them reorganize, restructure, and get a handle on finances to fulfill debts. Pat McGrath Labs isn't the only beauty brand to have filed Chapter 11; Revlon did so in 2022 and has since emerged. In 2024, Avon filed Chapter 11 to settle talc-based lawsuits, though the filing did not impact the United States branch of the business. Forma Brands, parent company of Morphe and r.e.m. beauty, filed for Chapter 11 in 2023 and exited a few months later, when r.e.m. founder Ariana Grande acquired the brand for around $15 million.

All this to say, the filing does not automatically spell the end of Pat McGrath Labs. For now, you can still purchase Pat McGrath Labs products on its website, Sephora, and Ulta. “During this process, the company will continue operations in the ordinary course of business while working to restructure its balance sheet and to forge a path to thrive," reads the brand's statement. “Pat McGrath Labs remains committed to its community, customers, partners, and stakeholders as it continues delivering its signature, high-quality products and culture-defining artistry and innovation."

For starters, the convenient silicone tip makes for a more hygienic application that doesn't involve dipping your finger into a pot. Then, there's the blend of hydrating ingredients, like honeydew melon, squalane, and avocado oil, alongside lactic acid, which gently exfoliates and dissolves dead skin cells the way a lip scrub would—sans grit or mess.

The formula is buildable: A thin layer applied during the day adds a glossy finish, while a thicker layer at night conditions and softens lips while you sleep. Bonus? Then I Met You's Honey Dew Lip Mask works any time of the day, but I save it for nighttime and apply many layers for maximum masking benefits. Unlike other lip masks, I love that it contains a hit of lactic acid for that all-important exfoliation without the mess of a scrub (which I can never be bothered to use anyway!). What causes dry or chapped lips?

The skin on your lips is structurally different from the rest of your face, which is the main reason why they become dry and chapped so easily. “Lips don’t have oil glands, so they dry out easily,” says Anna Karp, MD, a board-certified dermatologist based in New York City. On top of your skin’s lack of natural moisture, Dr. Karp also lists a slew of triggers that lead to dry, chapped lips: cold weather, wind, sun exposure, licking your lips, dehydration, certain medications like isotretinoin, allergens, and irritants in toothpaste or lip products.

How are lip masks and lip balms different?

Usually, lip balms are designed for all-day wear, whereas most lip masks are designed for overnight wear and include heavier occlusives like petrolatum. “Think of balms as your daytime moisturizer and lip masks as your nighttime recovery cream,” says Hallie McDonald, MD, a board-certified dermatologist and co-founder of ERLY. That being said, she notes that if your everyday balm has a rich consistency, you can use it overnight for similar benefits.

When do I need a lip mask?

Lip masks are a great addition to any lip-care routine, but they’re especially helpful when bouts of seasonal dryness, chapping, and flaking hit. Chapped lips can develop anywhere, anytime, on anyone for a variety of reasons, including environmental factors (like sun damage), allergies, and lip-irritating habits like biting or picking the skin. Like a lip balm, these masks mainly rely on moisturizing ingredients (some of which we’ll dive into below). But masks have more concentrated formulas that deliver stronger smoothing and plumping results in less time than a balm.

Which ingredients are found in lip masks?

Emollients like ceramides and fatty acids often do much of the heavy lifting in lip masks. But, as with face masks, you can find other active ingredients that promise more targeted results. For instance, you can find formulas that exfoliate (making quick work of flakes) and offer a subtle plumping effect, as well as others that boost collagen production to tackle fine lines around the mouth. Slather on these moisturizing treatments while you sleep, commute to work, or whenever you need long-lasting hydration.

How we test and review products

When Allure tests a product, our editors look at it from every angle in an effort to best serve you. We review ingredients, scrutinize brand claims, and, when necessary, examine peer-reviewed scientific and medical studies. In addition to testing each and every product that's included in each and every review, we rely on experts who shape their fields, including dermatology, cosmetic chemistry, and medicine, to help us vet the ingredients and formulas.

For our list of the best lip masks, we considered each product's performance across five primary categories: product ingredients and efficacy, packaging, fragrance, texture, and product wear. Every product was determined to have excelled in each category by our editorial team, which is composed of in-house writers and editors as well as contributors—along with special consideration from dermatologists. To learn more information on our reporting and testing processes, read our complete reviews process and methodology page.

In less than three years, Yoonchae Jeong, Daniela Avanzini, Manon Bannerman, Sophia Laforteza, Lara Raj, and Megan Skiendiel went from competing on Netflix’s Dream Academy to becoming the six members of Katseye, an international girl group created by K-pop label HYBE and Geffen Records. Even if you haven’t heard their music, you’ve probably seen them: Last August, the group’s viral ad for Gap denim was released on the heels of another jean campaign—you know the one—throwing them into the center of nationwide discourse about inclusivity and representation. In November, the young women received their first-ever Grammy nominations for Best New Artist and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Gabriela” and today, they’ve added yet another accomplishment to their growing list of accolades: global partners and faces of Laneige.

This is a full-circle moment for them, they say, and not only because their artistry has K-pop roots. During Dream Academy’s filming, the contestants—whose fans know them by their first names—worked with Laneige on a product placement campaign. “We were all freaking out,” Sophia says while chatting to Allure over Zoom. “That was one of our first times, as trainees, getting products from a brand.” Yoonchae, a native of Seoul, says that being able to work with the K-beauty brand was especially meaningful to her. “I'm Korean, and I use this brand a lot in real life.”

Katseye’s campaign celebrates the brand’s JuicePop Box Lip Tints, a new product that comes in eight music-inspired shades: Pop-Star Peach, Jazzy Jam, Lo-Fi Mauve, Disco Coral, Electro Berry, Red Classic, DJ Plum, and Mocha Remix. For the campaign, each member was given their own shade to wear based on the color and vibe that suited them best, says Lara, who wore DJ Plum to reflect her aspirations as a producer and songwriter. “Some were a bit more bold, some were a bit more calm and neutral,” she says. The group also wore a secret, yet-to-be-released shade that will come out in mid-February.

It’s not the first time the group has shared a beauty product. They often exchanges beauty tips and tricks with one another, like Yoonchae’s signature undereye blush or Lara’s kajal eyeliner. “We’ve all learned so much from each other, whether it’s skincare routines, how to prep your skin before makeup, or little tricks for long performance days,” Daniela says. “Being around each other every day, you naturally pick things up and start trying new things you wouldn’t have on your own.”

The Katseye girls have often said they’re a family—which makes sense, since they say they’re always stealing from each other. “I'm pretty sure I have at least one item of clothing from each of you guys in my closet, a majority from Yoonchae,” Sophia says. But now, with their upcoming performance at the Grammys on February 1, they’re leaning on their close relationships in a new way. Mentally, Daniela says the girls are focusing on staying present and enjoying the moment—but physically, they’re putting in the work. “We’re rehearsing a lot, taking care of our bodies, and making sure we’re rested,” she says.

Being catapulted into fame at such a young age (Katseye has members who are between the ages of 17 and 22) isn’t exactly easy—especially when you throw something like a potential Grammy award into the mix. “It honestly still feels surreal,” Daniela says. “I've never been so excited for anything,” Lara adds. “I can't believe it's happening.”

Even with all of the chaos, the six girls make an effort to focus on gratitude to stay grounded, Sophia says. “We love to sit before rehearsal and [go over] our wins, set our intentions, and celebrate little things, even if we're like, oh my gosh, I finally woke up and didn't snooze my alarm,” she says. “We love to celebrate and we love to update our group chat with even the tiniest little wins, and I think that really does help us so much. It's a habit that we've had since we began Katseye.”

“As a group, we really support each other,” Daniele echoes. “Checking in, talking things out, and reminding each other that it’s okay to slow down when needed.” So, what’s next for the girl group? “New sounds, new music, new concepts, and definitely growth,” Daniela adds, while Lara says: “Expect a reinvention.” We’ll be waiting.

You know you really love a hair product if you attempt to extend its life by pouring a tiny bit of water into the bottle as it runs out. That’s exactly what I’ve been doing with Crown Affair The Leave-In Conditioner. I was sad and in denial about running out of the ultra-hydrating, lightweight cream, until news of a launch from the brand hit my inbox. On January 27, Crown Affair Smoothing Air Dry cream will join the brand’s lineup of nine hair-care and styling offerings as the first curl product, three years after founder Dianna Cohen realized it was needed. “There are people who love the leave-in but need 10 pumps of it. So that dilemma was where this product’s journey began,” Cohen tells Allure.

I am one of those people who uses copious amounts of the leave-in (hence why I tried so desperately to extend its life). My coarse Type 4 hair is made up of tight coils that are prone to frizz, and though I love the leave-in, it is admittedly a bit too lightweight for my texture (and watering it down probably didn’t help). For styling, I tend to reach for heavier curl puddings and creams to achieve a defined twist-out, so the thought of only using an air-dry cream raised my eyebrows. Would it actually define my hair? Was it technically even a styling product? How do I use it? These were a few questions that went through my head as I ventured into testing the air-dry cream.

Some of these questions (like how to use the product) were answered in a Zoom chat with Cohen. “So, first wash, condition, and towel-dry,” says Cohen. “I personally will put my towel on, get my hair partially dried…Then I use more than a nickel, but a nickel-size amount is recommended on the bottle, and just start to distribute it through the hair,” Cohen tells me. Though she has wavy hair, Cohen still loves and uses the product and says it gives her hair more softness than the brand’s original air-dry mousse. Unlike the mousse, the air-dry cream is meant to be used in place of the leave-in instead of after.

The Smoothing Air Dry cream is formulated to “define, hydrate, and soften natural texture,” says a press release. After a glance at the ingredient list, cosmetic chemist Amanda Lam feels confident that the product can actually do what it says it’s meant to do. “It appears that they have swapped the traditional styling polymers and fixatives for hydroxypropyl starch phosphate, which is a modified starch that offers styling properties like curl retention and frizz management without a whole lot of crunch,” says Lam. The product also promises curls that are soft to the touch, which Lam says is achieved by “classic conditioning agents,” in the formula like coconut fruit extract and squalane.

Many of Crown Affair’s products are packaged in luxe frosted glass bottles that look chic on your bathroom counter long after they’re empty. The Smoothing Air Dry Cream, however, comes in a plastic mint green tube, which is equally as stylish. “We love the glass bottle, and it's beautiful, but we really considered how this would be used,” says Cohen, referencing how slippery things can get when styling your hair after a wash.

    How I Tested It

I tested the air-dry cream on my kinky human hair clip-ins. The extensions generally match my hair’s texture (the curls are just a bit looser), so I figured I’d still get a good feel for how the product performs on my hair. (Plus, I leave the front section of my hair out when wearing these extensions.)

I wasn’t due for a wash day, so instead of doing a full wash, I just wet my hair until it was damp, then applied the product.

I sectioned my hair into four parts and worked a nickel-size amount of the product into each section. Immediately, the pleasant, clean scent of bergamot and green tea (which is present in most of Crown Affair’s products) transported me to an upscale spa. The cream is noticeably thicker than the leave-in, but not as dense as some of the curl creams I tend to use—it has a slightly airy feel to it.

As I worked the cream into my hair, it felt immediately moisturizing and made my curls soft and easy to comb through. I put each section into twists for the night and wrapped my hair with a silk scarf. The instructions on the packaging don’t indicate that this is an overnight product, but the styling method that works best for my hair is a twist-out that’s had a few hours to air-dry, so using the product overnight was the easiest route.

In the morning, I unraveled the twists to find soft curls that were noticeably flatter than the night before. While the cream worked to smooth my hair, my curls weren’t as defined as I would’ve liked, and there was still a bit of frizz, leaving me unsatisfied.

I lightly dampened my hair with a spray bottle and reapplied the cream, this time working it through my hair (no sections) and focusing on defining my curls by smoothing the cream onto the strands with my fingers and lightly finger coiling. After using this method, the hair looked a lot more defined yet still soft to the touch.

4B hair using the Crown Affair Smoothing Air Dry Cream

    Annie Blay-Tettey

The cream did create a slightly hard cast after a few hours (which is expected of any product that defines), but my hair still looked and felt very soft. If you’re not a fan of any cast on your hair at all, I found that a small amount of lightweight oil (I used the SheaMoisture Coconut and Hibiscus Oil) scrunched into the hair breaks up the cast without completely disrupting the curls.

Overall, I really do like this cream. I get the sense that it works best on wet hair instead of damp hair. While it adds some definition, it’s not in the same category as heavy-duty curling puddings and defining gels. It’s in a class of its own, and I definitely plan to incorporate it into my styling routine as a lightweight alternative to thicker curl creams.

When the office started buzzing about a Crown Affair launch, I was instantly locked in—especially when I discovered that the new product is an air-dry cream designed for curly hair types.

While a lot goes into maintaining the health of my curls, besides just the basics of washing and drying, I’m admittedly lax about my styling routine. That’s why Crown Affair’s entire lineup aligns so seamlessly with my approach to hair care: simple, intentional, and straightforward. I’ve gone through bottles of the Leave-In because it gives my curls that natural, effortless, tousled look. The air-dry cream is even better.

It helps keep my curls slightly more defined without sacrificing that undone, lived-in finish I love. I applied the product to soaking-wet hair, and the rich texture locked all the moisture into my strands. I noticed that a section of hair would be dripping wet, and after applying the cream and brushing it through, there would be no more water droplets! The cream also gave my curls great slip, which made it easier to detangle. And, of course, the signature scent lingers just enough to make my curls smell luxe throughout the day.

I decided to do a twist-out with the Crown Affair Air Dry Cream instead of a wash-and-go because my wash-and-gos require more product (gel and a mousse) than a twist-out, and I wanted to see my hair's reaction to the cream without any other products in the mix.

While I didn’t start with freshly washed hair, I shampooed, conditioned, and masked a few days before, so my strands were still clean after three days in twists. I detangled my twisted sections, misted them with my spray bottle to get my hair damp, and began applying the cream to each section.

The first thing I noticed when I opened the bottle was the smell. It's hard to describe the scent in words, but it smelled like luxury. It wasn’t overpowering to the point of giving me a headache, but it was definitely noticeable.

The cream was soft and easily melted into my hair. I have 3C to 4A strands, with the hair near my nape being coarser and harder to penetrate. The 3C curls in the back of my head didn't really react to the cream much—my hair curled a bit, but nothing like what my go-to products would normally achieve.

As I got near the front of my head (where my hair is looser and less dense), I noticed the cream added more definition. Just a quarter-size dollop defined my curls, making them springy and bouncy.

After working the cream all over my hair, I applied the Curls Botanical Gel for extra hold before using the Bestool Tangling brush to make sure the products were evenly distributed.

I used less gel in the front because the styling cream did more than enough to transform my curls from super frizzy to defined and bouncy. I twisted my hair and kept my twists in for two days to maximize drying time.

Once my hair was ready to be untwisted, I drizzled the Camille Rose Cocoa Nibs hair oil on my fingertips and began separating each twist. The result? A cute, fluffy twist-out with minimal frizz.

Now, was this the best twist-out I've ever done? No, but it wasn't bad. My hair was moisturized and bouncy, and I'm still rocking a fluffy twist out, even as I write this review on day-three hair.

I would use this cream again in the future, except I'd make sure my hair is soaking wet and not just damp, so the styling cream can deeply penetrate each and every strand. While the Crown Affair Air Dry Cream doesn't define kinky hair as well as my other products, it did help reduce my frizz and boost the softness of my hair.

    Sephora

The Crown Affair Smoothing Air Dry Cream comes in a 6-ounce tube and costs $38. My go-to curl creams range between $6 and $17, so this cream does feel a bit pricey—though it’s on par with Crown Affair’s other products and overall luxurious vibe.

The formula does justify the price, in my opinion. Lam notes that the cream uses alternative styling polymers that make it “cleaner” than some other curl creams on the market.

Those with Type 2 and Type 3 hair will love this cream for the effortless smoothness, definition, and moisture it brings to the curls. If you have coarse Type 4 hair, this likely won’t be your go-to for a defined wash-and-go or twist-out, but you may like it as a leave-in conditioner to soften and detangle your curls before applying your heavy-duty stylers.

Martha Stewart has never been shy about dispelling plastic surgery rumors, and she's shutting them down yet again… with some caveats.

In a new interview with People, the iconic entrepreneur credits her glowing skin to a healthy lifestyle and quality skin care, but she acknowledges that people have been curious about whether she's undergone any plastic surgery.

"Everybody insists that I've had plastic surgery and I have not ever had plastic surgery," she told the magazine. “I'm the most honest person on earth—but if they won't take my word for it, I don't know. How can they not take my word for it? That's the truth!” Stewart denies she's gone under the knife for cosmetic purposes, but she did admit that she has seen a plastic surgeon before—for a reconstructive procedure, she says.

According to the entrepreneur, the incident happened about 10 years ago; she was on her way to the Today show around 11 p.m. during a blizzard and was going to kiss one of her dogs goodbye before she left. “I put my head down to one of my French bulldogs and I frightened her and she bolted up,” Stewart shared. The dog didn't bite her, but instead “bashed” her lip into her tooth and split it “almost all the way to my nose.”

Instead of heading to the Today set, she went to the surgeon's office. (She pointed out that this was the “only time I've ever missed an appearance.") "I get to the hospital and I think they did 16 stitches in my lip," she told People. Stewart added that she doesn't consider this plastic surgery in the traditional sense, but rather a “repair.” The procedure was a success, as Stewart says you “cannot see” any evidence of the incident. “I healed so well. That is the extent of a plastic surgeon working on my face," she said. "That is the only time I've ever had a plastic surgeon touch my face.”

This is far from the first time Stewart has commented on her aesthetic practices. Back in 2024, Stewart had her dermatologist, Dan Belkin, MD, on her podcast and the two shared a comprehensive overview of what the star says she's had done: some strategic Botox and fillers, lasers, and skin-tightening treatments like Sofwave. She's also said she's not a huge fan of facial Botox, but doesn't mind it on the lower face and neck. Whether or not you take these celebrity confessions at face value, there's no denying Stewart looks great—and we'll have whatever she says she's having when we're 84 years old!

Why it’s worth it: Paula’s Choice made its name on research-backed, no-nonsense formulas, and the Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant is arguably its most iconic product. (Our readers would agree, since they awarded it a 2025 Readers’ Choice Award.) This fluid toner harnesses 2% salicylic acid to dive deep into pores, dissolving excess oil, dead skin, and buildup that can cause breakouts. At the same time, it helps fade dark spots, hyperpigmentation, and acne scars—all without over-drying or irritating skin.

Dermatologists love it, too. Geeta Yadav, MD, a board-certified dermatologist and founder of Facet Dermatology in Toronto, calls it “well tolerated by nearly all skin types, easy to incorporate into a routine, and very effective," making it one of the rare viral products she actually recommends. Soothing green tea leaf extract calms redness, while moisturizing butylene glycol leaves skin feeling dewier and smoother. If you have super-sensitive skin, opt for the Paula’s Choice 1% BHA Sensitive Skin Exfoliant, which has a lower percentage of salicylic acid and the addition of allantoin to calm irritated skin.

    Alessandra Foresto

Why it’s worth it: A 2025 Best of Beauty Award winner, Caudalie proves that acne care can feel just as indulgent—cue six different essential oils for spa-like vibes—as it is effective. The Vinopure Acne Serum pairs salicylic acid (sourced from wintergreen leaves) and polyhydroxy acid with the brand’s signature grape-powered antioxidants (sourced from Caudalie’s own vineyards in the South of France) to help clear congestion, as well as smooth and soften skin. If you’re sensitive to fragrance, you might want to skip this formula, since essential oils can be potential irritants for some people.

“I've been blessed by the skin gods in having both super dry skin and eczema, and a T-zone that loves to develop the occasional persistent acne spot. This Best of Beauty Award-winning serum is gentle enough to keep the areas on my face that need a little exfoliation bump free, while not drying my skin into eczema breakouts. Most importantly though (because there's no way I'd consistently use a product if this is not the case), it doesn't smell like chemicals at all.” —Alessandra Foresto, managing editor

Why it’s worth it: SkinCeuticals serums have long been editor-favorites for oily and acne-prone skin, and Silymarin CF is no exception. This antioxidant-rich formula pairs vitamin C with ferulic acid to brighten skin, refine texture, and even out tone. Antioxidant refresher: Ferulic acid helps stabilize vitamin C, boosting the effectiveness of both ingredients. Another standout, silymarin (which is extracted from milk thistle, a plant related to daisies and ragweeds), helps prevent oil oxidation—the culprit behind clogged pores and early signs of aging—while salicylic acid delivers gentle, pore-clearing exfoliation for a clearer complexion over time.

Dr. Turegano is a fan of the SkinCeuticals Blemish + Age Defense, a more targeted acne treatment that can work well alongside Silymarin CF if you’re dealing with active breakouts. The formula pairs a higher 1.5% concentration of salicylic acid with lipohydroxy acid to help clear skin, while dioic acid, glycolic acid, and citric acid refine texture.

“Despite having combo, non-sensitive skin, I’ve never been one to incorporate BHA (or AHA) serums in my usual skin-care routine. I’m simply wary of how harsh they can be—and have been, based on experience. However! Despite clocking in at a 7.7% concentration of exfoliating acids, the Water Bank Aqua Facial doesn’t cause any irritation, which signals to me an elegant formula that knows what ingredients it needs to maintain barrier health and replenish hydration. (I’m looking at you, hyaluronic acid, polyglutamic acid, PDRN, and more.) Of course, consistency is key, but most mornings after application, my blackheads look less apparent and my skin looks overall brighter and glassier.” —Sarah Han, commerce editor

    Frequently Asked Questions

Who should use salicylic acid serums?

Salicylic acid serums are especially beneficial for people with oily, acne-prone, or combination skin, as well as those struggling with blackheads, clogged pores, or breakouts along the T-zone, says Dr. Bowles. “Because salicylic acid is oil-soluble, it penetrates deep into pores, making it ideal for congestion-related acne.” While some patients with sensitive skin can tolerate salicylic acid, they should start with low concentrations (like 0.5%) and slowly incorporate the active into their routine, as well as choose formulations with soothing ingredients (hi, green tea). “It may not be the best choice for very dry, eczema-prone, or compromised skin barriers unless guided by a dermatologist,” Dr. Bowles warns.

What concentration of salicylic acid should you look for?

Dr. Bowles says most over-the-counter salicylic acid products are formulated between 0.5% and 2%, with 2% being the maximum allowed in the US. “For many people, 2% is effective and well-tolerated, but higher percentages don’t necessarily mean better results,” she explains. The vehicle of the product, whether it’s a serum, toner, or cleanser, often matters just as much as the percentage. “Using the right formulation at the right frequency is more important than chasing higher numbers,” she says. In fact, lower concentrations can work better for sensitive or dry skin types when used consistently.

What other ingredients should you look for in salicylic acid serums?

Dr. Bowles always encourages her patients to look for ingredients that reduce irritation and strengthen the skin barrier. For example, “niacinamide helps calm redness and regulate oil production, making it a great pairing with salicylic acid,” she says. “Ceramides and panthenol support barrier repair, which is especially important if you’re using exfoliating acids regularly, and antioxidants like green tea extract can also help soothe inflammation and protect the skin.” Look for hyaluronic acid and glycerin as well to draw in moisture.

How we test and review products

Before reviewing any makeup, we ask questions about a number of factors: What ingredients are in it? Does the brand offer a wide shade range inclusive of consumers with all skin tones and undertones? Is it safe for readers who have sensitive skin or wear contact lenses? Is it on the affordable side or more of a splurge? Is its packaging consciously designed or needlessly wasteful?

For our review of the best lip and cheek tints, we enlisted the help of multiple editors, writers, contributors, cosmetic chemists, and professional makeup artists to review the products. This ensures our testing base spans different skin tones, genders, and dermatological conditions. We considered each product’s performance across four primary categories: ingredients, wear and longevity, packaging, and inclusivity.

After all, can we really say a skin-care product is the "best" for people over 50 if the only testers we’ve solicited opinions from folks who have yet to hit 30? Can we honestly deem a high-end diffuser worthy of your hard-earned cash if it’s never been tested on curls? We’re proud that our staff spans a wide range of ages, skin tones, hair textures, genders, and backgrounds, which means that we are able to fairly assess any beauty product that comes into the beauty closet.

Cardi B is going to the Super Bowl! The Am I the Drama? rapper was on the sidelines, cheering on her boyfriend Stefon Diggs as his team, the New England Patriots, defeated the Denver Broncos and solidified their Super Bowl slot—and she did so in a pretty pastel hair color that felt like a breath of (minty) fresh winter air.

Cardi looked like a winter princess in her game day glam, which centered around a furry gray coat to stay warm in the snow and an aqua green wig reminiscent of Queen Elsa's signature long gown from Frozen. Her hair was parted in the center, styled super straight and sleek and flowing down to her hips. (See it in motion, along with her all-gray leather outfit, on Cardi's Instagram.) After the game, Cardi added a Patriots hat to her look to celebrate the team's big win, which only made the minty hair color stand out more.

The rapper's hair color also appears to hold some significance for the couple, as Diggs hopped into Cardi's Instagram comments writing, "Damn I love you… and you in my favorite color." He could be referring to the gray outfit, of course, but we've got a feeling the NFL star is talking about her mint-green hair. Aww! (We'll never forget Cardi's “Stefon Diggs” manicure.)

Cardi often incorporates shades of aqua, turquoise, and blue into her looks, like the chic, denim-blue bob she wore to celebrate Diggs's birthday in December; a set of swimming pool-blue nails; and a gorgeous sapphire blue cats-eye manicure, to mention just a few recent standouts.

Now that the Patriots are officially headed to the Super Bowl on February 8, we're really looking forward to seeing Cardi's Super Bowl glam. Just a few days after the game, she kicks off her much-anticipated “Little Miss Drama” tour. In addition, her “I Like It” duet partner Bad Bunny is headlining the Halftime Show, which means it's entirely possible she'll pop up onstage for a quick cameo. Fingers crossed!
